People do appreciate
receiving personal, rather than “shop bought”, cards.
So, do it yourself, on your own PC? Making greeting cards using standard PC software and your own printer is not difficult, although it will take you a while to set up the first time. Then all you need is confidence in your graphic design skills.
- DDD SYSTEMS Art PRINTER provides a greeting card design service. It will also print small runs, from a dozen to two hundred, or even a single card. The picture on the cards’ front don’t have to be all the same, and clients can provide their own images.
Card costs vary depending on card size and
quality, ink coverage, design complexity and post and packing. For a medium print run, total all-in prices
are in the range 70p - £1.40 per card (minimum order £15).
CALENDARS & OTHER GRAPHIC DESIGN PROJECTS
Family and friends received personal calendars as Christmas presents from Dr. Diaper in 2007. These were two-side printed on 160gm A4 card (i.e. 4 sides). He then made a ‘humorous’ set for charity for his local club.
For a small print run, e.g. 5 -20 calendars, with a fairly simple design, then all-in price per calendar in this A4 format could be as little as £5 each.
